Welcome
Kathy
Willmington is a wife, mother, businesswoman and friend. She lives
in Brisbane. Her pastime is chatting to people, (she says “everyone
has interesting lives”) along with browsing in bookstores
and newsagencies. An ideal day off for her is having a bundle of
books or magazines under her arm, a good strong coffee, and a quiet
place to curl up and unwind in the world of words!
She has been
involved with the Writing School, and participates regularly publishing
letters and stories to some of Australia’s leading magazines!
She has a knack of writing about everyday topics- in a simply dialogue.
Kathy always
knew she would write a book. What she didn’t know that her
first book would be on the subject of “Breast Cancer”.
Kathy was diagnosed with breast cancer, through routine examination
by Breast Screen and from that diagnosis her life changed. She underwent
surgery for removal of malignant tumour with removal of lymph glands,
requiring radiotherapy treatment. Whilst rehabilitating she put
pen to paper documenting her recovery!
Her book BITTERSWEET
surviving breast cancer – is a simply and easy to read handbook
written through personal experience. Kathy found it difficult to
locate a book that offered some practical helpful ideas. Bittersweet
is about a personal life experience through the eyes of a woman
who thought it would never happen to her, after all she did not
have a lump, was healthy, and had a great life!
